Delilah Becton Obituary

Delilah Hyman Becton, 91, of Kinston passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh C. Hyman and Oretha West Hyman; husband, Clarence Garland “Pete” Becton, Jr; siblings, Estelle Harden, Lorraine Dixon, Gloria Hyman, and Vance Hyman.

Delilah was a life time member of Bethany Methodist Church in Sand Hill. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress, and loved her family dearly, providing care for many of her family members during their failing health.

She is survived by her sons, Garland Becton and wife Judeth “Judy” of Rolesville, Darrel Becton and wife Debra of Kinston; grandchildren, Mystie Brotherton and husband John of Shelby, Melanie Vance and husband Greg of Rolesville, Amanda Becton, Darren Becton, Dustin Becton and wife Bridgette; Great-grandchildren, Cassidy Brotherton, Ian Brotherton, Noah Vance, Hayden Vance, Carter Becton and mother Coleman and Atley Mae Becton; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Garner Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 8:00 p.m., with Rev. David Harrington officiating. Committal will be on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
