Hubert Bryan "H.B." Jones

Hubert Bryan “H.B.” Jones, 77, born in Kinston January 31, 1941, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at home surrounded by family.  

H.B. was married to Pattie Shaffer Jones for 37 years and was a member of Grace Fellowship Church. In 1957 he started working for “Pepsi Cola” where he continued until October 1996. He also ran a small neighborhood store on Asphalt road for many years. H.B. was a Webelos Leader with Pack 273 for several years. He enjoyed working with youth and helping them explore new things. He also enjoyed camping in many forms whether roughing it or using a modern camper. He and Pattie traveled Eastern NC and beyond to listen to the Bluegrass music that he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert B. Jones and Camille Sutton Dunn and sister Francis Jones Paderick.

H.B. is survived by his wife, Pattie Shaffer Jones of the home; daughter, Louise W. Oglesby and husband Mark of Kinston; sons, James R. Joyner and wife Susie of Arab, AL, Jesse L. Joyner and wife Tiffany of Atlanta, GA, Fred B. Jones and wife Erin of Asheville; sister Estelle Surles and husband Johhny of Pollocksville. He was blessed with 7 granddaughters and 1 grandson, 8 great grandchildren; and 2 nieces.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Grace Fellowship Church. Visitation will follow the service.
