Betty Jean (Hill) Hyman

Betty Jean Hill Hyman, 78, of Kinston passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Duke Regional Hospital.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ethel Hill; sister, Florence Stepps; brothers, Herbert Hill, Larry Hill and Ervin Hill.

Betty Jean is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hyman Thigpen; sons, Jeff Hyman and wife Tracy and Scotty Shivar; grandchildren, Anthony Whitley, April Schrage, Molly Braxton, Cierra Hyman and Jacob Hyman; great grandchildren, Noah, Alexis, A.J., Bella, Ruth Ann, Layla, Justin, Destiny, Jeremiah, Elijah, Abigail, Bentley, Reed and Londyn; sisters, Doris Caton, Josephine White and Lou Tucker.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Garner Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2023 at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Pastor Freddie Powell officiating.
