David Murray Civils, Jr. (Crab), 72, of Trenton passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Bayview Nursing Home in New Bern. He was born October 22, 1948 to the late David Murray Civils, Sr. (Tinker) and Bernice Benton Civils. David was a farmer and owner and operator of David Civils Logging Company for more than 50 years. He enjoyed playing poker, reading, watching TV (in which he watched the “Titanic” 67 times) and any books or movies that involved the War. He also enjoyed circle the word puzzles.
David is survived by his wife Faye Heath-Civils; stepson, Allen Heath, wife Shelia of Trenton; stepdaughter, Lori (Cindy) King, husband Darrell of Kinston; grandchildren, Darrell King, Jr., wife Jennifer, Robert Allen King, wife Kristie; great grandchildren, Jackson, Kristopher, Addison; mother-in-law, Mary Lee Register of the home; one Uncle Frank Benton; brother-in-law, Pete Jones, wife Cindy and several cousins.
Graveside service with viewing will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Civils Family Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Maxwell.
