Delia Hyatt (Tilghman) Alcock

Delia Tilghman Alcock, 92, of Kinston passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Signature HealthCARE of Kinston.

Her greatest joy in life came from her loving family. She had a love for people. Delia had many God given talents which were her cooking, sewing, gardening and canning. She was very proud of her garden especially her flowers and vegetables. Delia was a lifelong member of Southwest Christian Church.

Delia is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Nelson Alcock; parents, “Wade Hampton and Ruby Clark” Tilghman and seven siblings.

Left to cherish her memory, her daughters, Ellen A. Craft and husband Bobby, Paula A. Hollowell and husband Tommy; sons, Nelson Alcock and wife GiGi, Ronnie P. Alcock, Russell Kim Alcock and wife Gail; grandchildren, Nikole Sutton, Laura Johnson, Bobbie Jo Craft, Ashley Cahoon and husband Todd, Tyler Whaley and wife Courtney, Titus Alcock and wife Holli, Travis Alcock and wife Melissa, Thomas Alcock and wife Missy; London Williams, Phillip Alcock, Clayton Alcock, Brock Alcock; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Nettie Tilghman; special nieces and nephews; special sister-in-laws, Joyce Tilghman and Melba Ingels; special friends, Barbara Vause and Annie Mae Foy.

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to Signature HealthCARE of Kinston and especially to Sarah Dixon.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Garner Funeral Home. Funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Amanda Hines officiating. Entombment will follow the funeral service at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
