Donald “Don” Eugene Bias, 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday night, December 28, 2025.
Preceded in death by his parents, John William Bias and Eris Rouse Bias.
Survived by his brother, William “Bill” Bias (wife, Linda); sister, Brenda Donald (husband, Bill); sister, Karen Barrow (husband, Keith); sister, Carolyn Bias; daughters, Harley Nicole Bias & Crystal Jade Jones (mother, Terry Lane Rouse); many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Born May 19, 1954, Don grew up in Lyndonville, New York, graduating from Lyndonville Central School, Class of 1972. He then spent a few years in Ocala, Florida, before moving to Kinston, North Carolina, where he raised two girls and was happily married for 25 years. Don worked as Assistant Superintendent for Brook Valley Country Club for many years, then with Hampton Inn, and Rice Monuments. In his later years, he truly enjoyed retirement and spending time with family and friends.
A firm believer in “dust yourself off and keep on going,” Don was a tough fella, a talented cook, mechanic, animal lover, crossword puzzle expert, and avid wine taster. He loved to grill out, cut grass, and dog-sit.
His memory will be cherished daily by those who knew and loved him.
As per his wishes, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as Don did for many years.
