Dorothy Marie (Howard) Rich

Dorothy Howard Rich, 81, of Deep Run passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at her home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hardy and Erma Howard; siblings, Lola Mae Hardison, Nancy Jones, Edward “Bud” Howard and David Howard.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years, Melvin Rich, Sr.; daughter, Judy Phillips (Leroy) of Kinston; son, Melvin Rich, Jr. (Pam) of Kinston; grandchildren, Jeffrey Terry (Grace) of Deep Run, Paige Terry of Kinston, Petty Officer First Class Matthew Rich of Norfolk, VA; great grandchildren, Hunter Taylor; brother, James Howard (Judy) of Deep Run.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Garner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held following the visitation with Pastor Duane Howard officiating. Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Brady-Howard Family Cemetery in Pink Hill.
