Edward "Ed" Thomas Dawson, Sr.

Edward “Ed” Thomas Dawson, Sr., 94, of Cove City passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his home. Ed was a beloved farmer and enjoyed socializing and sparking up conversations with anyone. Later in his life, he loved to dance on his two left feet. He was a member of Wintergreen OFWB Church. Ed will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Smith; wife, Catherine Banks Dawson; and brother, Albert “Jaybird” Dawson.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sherry Lee and husband Jimmy; sons, Edward T. Dawson, Jr. and wife Diane and Frankie Dawson; and Thirty four grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Wintergreen OFWB Church with Pastor Calvin Heath officiating. The burial will be held following the funeral service at Wintergreen Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held following the burial.
