Elbert Earl Burkett

Elbert Earl Burkett, 89, of Dover passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at his home.

He worked at Frosty Morn until he retired, then he started farming. Elbert’s garden was his passion, he loved tending to it and sharing his harvest with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lady Dell Burkett; siblings, Johnny Bill, Ethel, Robert, Faye and Roger.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 49 years, Christine Burkett of the home; sons, Andrew Burkett and wife Rhonda, Jay Burkett and wife Blake; grandchildren, Kole, Jaelyn, Jacob and Kade; sisters, Angeline, Ann and Cynthia “Tootsie”; brothers, Jesse, Eugene and David; and daughters, Kimberly Whaley and family, Ginger Edwards and family.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025 at Pilgrim Home Church, 5802 Wyse Fork Road, Dover, NC 28526. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation with Pastor Jimmy Sowers officiating. The burial will follow the funeral service at Burkett Family Cemetery.
