Eleanor Jeanette (Phillips) Ward

Eleanor Jeanette Phillips Ward, 95, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Greenville, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Ward and sister Polly Ann Everette.

She was very passionate about her cooking and was famous for her chocolate pies. Her fried chicken was loved as well. Jeanette was a cherished member of Fort Barnwell Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Later in life, she loved to play Canasta card game with her friends. She loved her pets dearly.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Terry Ward (Sylvia) and Gary Ward; grandchildren, Lacy Rae Ward and Kelly Mellisa Ward; nephews, Curt, Tony, and Ernie Everette; & numerous extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Garner Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. noon on Friday, January 10, 2025. The funeral service will follow starting at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Gray Harrison officiating and the burial will be at Pinelawn Memorial Park after the service.

Garner Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
