Ervin Jenkins Cunningham, Sr.

Ervin Jenkins Cunningham, Sr. 89, of Kinston passed away Tuesday, October 17 at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro. He is preceded in death by his parents Leon Lee and Libby Cunningham, sisters Laura May, Ruby, Frances, Margaret, Margie, and brothers Robert, Ray, Therbert and Tick.

Ervin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Ervin worked at Caswell Center in Dietary for more than 35 years. He loved cutting grass. One of his favorite things to enjoy was Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Dr. Pepper, barbeque and shrimp. He loved people and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Ann Whitley Cunningham of the home; daughter, Susan Cunningham Reaves and husband Michael of LaGrange; son, Ervin Jenkins Cunningham, Jr. and wife Lisa of LaGrange; sister, Evelyn Sutton of LaGrange, grandchildren, Austin Cunningham, Patrick Reaves, Eric Reaves, Andrew Dedrick, Matthew Dedrick, Lauren Grady, and great-grandchild, Sasha Grady.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Garner Funeral Home with Pastor Henry Seymour and Pastor Henry Potter officiating. Visitation to follow funeral services. Graveside service will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
