Essie (Wiley) Smith

Essie Wiley Hill Smith, 93, of Deep Run, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 12, 2023. She loved to spend time with her family, friends, and church family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raleigh Wiley and Sudie Garris Wiley; husband, Lewis Norwood Smith; grandchildren, James Scott Hill, Zacharey and Alexander Lourenco, and Wendy Sue Hill; along with her sisters and brothers.

Essie is survived by her sons, William “Billy” Hill and wife Janice, Sammie Walter Hill and wife Selena, Michael Danny Hill; daughters, Debra Williams, Denise Lourenco and husband Manny; seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and her bingo buddies.

Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2023 at Rivermont Baptist Church. Funeral will be held following the visitation with Pastor John Morton and Pastor Luis Miranda officiating. A burial will be held following the funeral service at Westview Cemetery.
