Frances Caroline (Riggs) Hill

Frances Caroline Riggs Hill, 90, of 6543 Wyse Fork Road went to be with the Lord Friday June 3, 2022.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022 in the chapel at Garner Funeral Home by Rev. Calvin Heath.  Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.

Frances was the daughter of the late James Harvey and Carolina (Carrie) Davis Riggs of Asbury and was a resident of the Wyse Fork community in Jones County since her marriage on October 7, 1949.  She was a homemaker her entire adult life.  She was a member of Pilgrim’s Home Original Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Lee Hill, Sr. of the home and her son Timothy Ray Hill of Defuniak Springs, FL. 

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Maurice Lee Hill, Jr. and Rebecca Heath Hill of Kinston, N.C., and grandchildren, Mickey Charles Hill of Goldsboro, N.C., and Christie Renee Hill Burnett and husband Colin, of Goldsboro, N.C. and great-grandchildren Claire Carter, Corey Carter, and Mikayla Hill; daughter-in-law Donna Nichols Hill of Defuniak Springs, FL, and grandchildren, Ona Jean Hill Simmons and husband Curt of Crestview, FL, April Fawn Hill Turnage and husband, Jason, of Crestview, Fla., and Timothy Ray Hill, Jr. of Defuniak Springs, FL, and great-grandchildren Samuel Olmstead, Summer Olmstead, Haylee Turnage Justice, Jacob Turnage, Nathan Turnage, Travis Turnage, Tyler Turnage, Cody Wilson, Kristina Wood, and great-great-grandchild Tatum Wood; son Gregory Carroll Hill of the home, and grandchildren Courtney Hill Vinson and husband Zac of New Bern, NC, Christopher Carroll Hill and wife Emily of LeRoy, NY, Justin Gregory Hill of New Bern, NC, and Caroline Mae Hill of New Bern, NC, and  great-grandchildren Camden Hill, Jackson Hill, Kaycee Hill, and Savannah Vinson; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Alan Hill and Connie Louise Lamantia Hill of Chesterfield, VA, and grandchildren, Jessica Louise Hill Dodson and husband Sam of Chesterfield, VA, Chandler Aaron Hill of Richmond, VA, and Concetta Grace Hill of Greenville, NC, and great-grandchildren Eliana Dodson and Parker Dodson.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Community Hospice Care and Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehab Services. 

The visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, preceding the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Garner Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at other times at the home of Maurice and Rebecca Hill.
