George Edward Skinner

George Edward Skinner, 86, of Kinston passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 15, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Louise Skinner; his wife, Rosa Lee Burkett Skinner; sister, Doris Ann Sutton and brother and sister-in-law, Dempsey and Hazel Skinner.

Public viewing from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021 at Garner Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

George worked in road construction most of his life, retiring from Greenville Paving Co.

He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and friend.

George is survived by his son, Tony Skinner (Brenda); daughter, Lynn Skinner Townsend (Sam); grandchildren, Tonya Taylor, Edward Race (Ericka), Tyler Skinner (Stephanie), Blake Townsend (Ashlee); great grandchildren, Gage Allen, McKenzie Mills, Greyson Townsend, Henley Skinner, Aspen Race; sister, Mary Grace Jackson and friend Ed Slayton; and many other family and friends.
