Jack Dempsey Metts, 90, of Garner passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at WakeMed Raleigh Campus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Levy Metts and Orphy Metts; twelve brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 68 years, Carol C. Metts of the home; daughters, Starlyn R. Loflin of Raleigh and Dena Medlin of Raleigh; son, Jackie D. Metts and wife Ramona of Greenville; grandchildren, Randal Carter, Hailey Desselle, Austin Carter, Amber Bourque, Anna Parrish, Lydia Parrish, Jackson Medlin, Luke Medlin; great grandchildren, Wahlon, Wyatt, Daniel Desselle, Jr., Allie Desselle and Blair Desselle.
Jack had a long successful career as a Barber and hair professional. His greatest treasure was his family. He was a man of character and at the same time, he was a character. He was known for his sense of humor and he was never at a loss for words. When he wasn’t cutting hair, he was cutting grass.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Westview Cemetery.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. James for his 40 years of care. A special thank you to his grandson, Austin Carter for his love and care that he provided to his grandfather for the last year and a half.
