James "Franky" Franklin Wilkins, Jr.

James “Franky” Franklin Wilkins, Jr., 62, of Kinston passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at his home.

Franky was a contractor for W. Roy Poole Construction many years in his earlier years and Jarman Construction for many years in his later years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Wilkins Sr. and Bessie Wilkins and several brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Rose Wilkins; son James Wilkins III and fiancée Michelle; daughter, April Davidson and husband Michael; granddaughters, Victoria Platt and husband Johnnie, Taylor Taylor and husband Bodie, and Kayla Murphy; grandsons, Tyler Wilkins and wife Amber, Josh Wilkins and fiancée Kaylie, James Wilkins and Allen Wilkins; six  great grandchildren; several brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Garner Funeral Home. Funeral service with Rev. Bodell Heath officiating will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Garner Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill.
