Jason Mercer Cade, 50, of Kinston, passed away on May 7, 2025 after a valiant fight with cancer. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kirby Lee and Joe and Grace Norris; paternal grandparents, Virginia Dail and Mercer and Catty Cade; best friend, Greg Thrower, and his beloved canine companion, Rat-Dog.
He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Annette Cade; son, Jack Dylan Cade; granddaughter, Maren Andrews; parents, Jimmy and Annette Cade; significant other, Crystal Fischer; brother, Jay Cade and wife, Teri; several close nieces and nephews, along with many other special family members and friends.
Jason was known for his ability to always bring a good time to any place he went. If you were ever having a bad day, everyone knew that hanging out with Cade would instantly make you feel better. He made conversation effortless and his wholesome spirit was sure to lift you up. His greatest passion was bringing new life to fast cars. You could almost always find him in his shop, jamming out to his radio and working away on his latest automotive project. He was fiercely loyal and loved deeply those lucky enough to have been in his circle. As we all mourn the loss of our best friend, there is comfort knowing that again someday we will be greeted with a smile and his signature “Hey, pal!”.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Garner Funeral Home in Kinston.
