Elma Jean Aycock Avery, 84, of Kinston passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Goldsboro Assisted Living. She enjoyed flowers and gardening in her spare time.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband, George Avery and her parents, Turner and Eula Aycock.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Rebecca Grady; son, Paul Avery and wife Joy; grandchildren, Riley Baker and wife Meredith, Jessica Howard, Lauren Avery, Brandon Avery and wife Anna; great grandchildren, Ivy Baker, Willow Baker, Tinslee Howard, Savannah Priest, Will Avery; sisters, Carolyn Sullivan and husband Billy, Christine Hart, Ellender Ives and husband Walter; many nieces and nephews, good neighbors and many special friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Garner Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Sam Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
