Jean Carol (Griffin) Metts

Jean Carol Griffin Metts, 85, of Kinston passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Metts; son, Darren Metts; brother, Gerald Griffin and sisters, Frances Sutton and Gayle Parker.

Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Ben Metts and wife Robin of Kinston, Curt Metts and wife Kelli of Matthews; grandchildren, Kelly Metts, Tony Whitley, Emily Futrell, Alex Metts, Abby Metts, Blake Anderson, Maddie Huntley, Hunter Smith, Camden Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Mikenzie, Noah, Alexis, Bella, Junior, Jackson, Ruth Ann, Brayden, Asher, Brett, Greyson, Kopen, Navy, Emery, Danny, Connor; sister, Sue Haddock and husband Doug; numerous nieces and nephews; several friends that were like family.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Garner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at Garner Funeral Home with Pastor Darin Ezzell officiating. Burial will be held following the funeral service at Westview Cemetery.
