Joan Carolyn (Murphy) Deatherage

Joan Murphy Deatherage, 76, of Kinston passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Joan was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. She attended college in Nashville, TN at Free Will Baptist Bible College. Joan was one of the first employees that Dr. George West hired in his office as an Office Manager.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Ireland Murphy and brother, Ernest Thompson.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 25 years, Larry Deatherage; daughter, Candice Dail and husband Rob of Seven Springs; sons, Randy Huggins and wife Christy of Greenville and Jonathan Keith Deatherage of Pink Hill; grandchildren, Brennan, Ava, Addison, Natalie and Chloe.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Westview Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Tripp officiating.
