Joseph Wiggins, Jr. Obituary

Frankie Wiggins, a devoted father, husband, and farmer passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, at the age of 66, at his home in Trenton.

Born on April 17, 1958, Frankie was the son of the late Joe and Leona Wiggins. Growing up on the family farm, Frankie learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and a deep respect for the land. He spent his entire life working the land, starting his own farming operation after graduating from college, where he grew corn, soybeans, cotton, tobacco, and raised poultry and cattle. His passion for farming was evident in everything he did, and he was known for his knowledge of planting, harvesting, curing tobacco and caring for his crops.  He took pride in his farming, always strived to nurture and enhance the land he farmed.

Frankie was a respected member of his community, willing to lend a hand to his neighbors and share his knowledge with other farmers. Frankie was on several boards and committees over the years. His wisdom, experience, and generosity touched the lives of many.

In addition to farming, Frankie enjoyed spending time with his daughter as she embraced her love of horses and livestock. He never turned down a good day of fishing with friends but was happiest when he was in his favorite recliner. Over the last few years, he found joy and pride in supporting the expanding Jones County 4-H Pig and Dairy Cow Projects where he was able to provide his farm and knowledge to local youth. Sharing his passion for agriculture alongside Samantha filled his heart. He thrived on bringing smiles and laughter to others with his quick wit. Frankie never met a stranger. He had a gift for making connections and always found someone to talk to, making new friendships along the way.

Frankie is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gloria Wiggins; his daughter, Samantha Bennett and husband Kenny; sister, Sherri Meadows and husband Kelvin, niece and nephew Joey and Alea; sister-in-law, Golonda Howard and her husband Phillip; nephew, Joseph Howard; great-nephew Wyatt Howard and his favorite furry granddaughter Melba Toast Wiggins Bennett.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Leona Wiggins.
