Judy Carol Jarman King, 78, of Kinston passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at her home.
She is preceded in death by her son, Leslie “Pee Wee” King; parents, Alton and Lydia Jarman.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Crystal Winstead (Stephen, Bryson); son, Alan King (Lisa, Noah, Mason), grandson, Cody King (Heather); great grandchildren, Dylan and Jordyn; sisters, Marie Moody (Verna, Beverly), Teresa Jones (Leon, Kevin, Beth, Philip); brother, Tim “Buddy” Jarman (Garrett, Matthew, Megan); special neighbors, Dennis (Shirley) Whitley, Michael Whitley; 4 legged friend, Sweetie; numerous nieces and nephews, several special cousins.
Mama was a simple woman whose life was defined by dedication, passion, and love for the Lord, her work, her garden, her family and the simple joys that made each day meaningful. She believed deeply in the value of hard work and carried a strong work ethic throughout her life, earning the respect and admiration of everyone who knew her.
Outside of work, Mama found happiness in the beauty of nature. We could never just "ride by" a garden center without stopping. Her garden was her sanctuary, and among her many flowers, sunflowers were her favorite—bright, bold, and full of life, just like her.
Mama had a lifelong love of Sports, there was always a Ballgame of some sort on when you stopped by her house or a Race on. Everyone that knew her did not question who her favorites were, NC State, Dale Earnhardt, and the Redskins!
The Beach always held a special place in her heart. The ocean was her place of comfort and renewal. Some of the fondest memories include spur of the moment late night fishing trips on the Ironsteamer Pier with her children with fishing poles in hand.
She will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her love for her children, grandchildren, and the two that knew her as GG. Mama was also known for her "Famous" Aunt Judy's BBQ chicken and Pecan Pies, just ask one of her many Nieces or Nephews. Mama found love of life’s simple but profound pleasures.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Jarman Family Cemetery on 1714 Weyerhaeuser Road in Trenton, NC.
Donations can be made to the St. Jude Foundation or Garner Funeral Home.
