Judy Taylor Scott, 74 passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2022 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. She was born on October 31, 1947 in Kinston, NC to the late Fred Taylor and Lillian Stocks Taylor.
Our precious mom was known by others as “Juju” and “Granny”. She taught us LOVE and gave us strength. She fought for us all in one way or another. She was so loving, funny, giving and caring. She lost her battle with cancer way too soon. We will miss her so much but she will forever live in our hearts. We will continue to carry on family traditions that were so special to all of us. She was a kind-hearted mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. Some of her favorite hobbies included playing Bingo, Sweepstakes and Poker with siblings and friends. She also enjoyed watching her Game Shows and solving the Daily Jumble in the newspaper each morning.
She was a dedicated employee of Hardy Harvey, Carolina Paint Company and the Kinston drag strip during her career. Special thanks to our Uncle Fred for taking on the role of our dad after he passed with house repairs/lawn care. We will all cherish the memories that we have with our sweet Juju until we meet again! She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Vance Scott, Jr. sisters; Sandra Kay Taylor Perry, Libby Keel two brothers; Roger Douglas Taylor, Freddie Taylor and his wife Marilyn.
She is survived by her daughters; Vanessa Scott James and husband Dan, Jill Scott Burgess and husband Greg, Holly Scott Hartington and husband Mike, grandchildren; Landon James, Holden James, Taylor Burgess, Cole Burgess, Jordan Harrington, Vance Harrington and Emery Harrington. Sister; Fran Outlaw and husband Bryce, three brothers; Tommy Taylor and wife Marla, Bruce Taylor and wife Wanda, Kenneth Edwards and wife Vernelle and many nieces and nephews
