Karen B. (Miller) Stallings

Karen M. Stallings, 65, of Kinston passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at ECU Inpatient Hospice Center in Greenville. She loved her family dearly and she will be deeply missed.

She was a loving daughter, devoted mom to her two children, loving aunt and great-aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She loved to travel with her two sisters, especially attending Carolina Hurricanes and Carolina Panthers games with them.

Karen started her career with the public school system with Lenoir County Public Schools. She continued with Jones County Public Schools and finally as Chief Financial Officer for Greene County Public Schools. She cherished her work family.

She deeply loved her three pets and was an animal lover. She received her Veterinary Assistant Certificate to continue her passion for animals after retirement.

Karen is survived by her parents, Gene and Edna Miller; daughter, Kathryn Stallings; son, Jordan Stallings; sisters, Dawn Murphy, Wendy Boone and husband Al; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and extended family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Garner Funeral Home with Reverend Perry Hardison officiating. Visitation will follow.
