Larry Harper Jones, 85, of Albertson passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at his home.
He truly enjoyed working and providing for his family. Larry could fix anything; he loved working in his shop and tinkering. Larry also never knew what the word “no” meant and always lended a helping hand to those in need. He could accomplish anything he put his mind to. Larry was known as the “fish stew man” as he hosted several family events and served his famous fish stew. In later days, he could ride his scooter to his shop and wait for the mail man. Larry loved everyone and most importantly, the Lord. He enjoyed Blue Grass music and loved Blue Grass festivals. Larry was deeply rooted in his Albertson community for 80 years and was well known and loved by many.
Larry is preceded in death by his son, James “Jimmy” Jones; parents, James and Lou Ellen Jones; sisters, Bertha Lee, Bernice White, Pete Fields; brother, Lewis Jones.
Left to cherish is memory is his wife of 38 years, Lula Mae Jones of the home; sons, Dail Carlyle and wife Christel of Kinston, Eddie Carlyle and wife Mary of Seven Springs; grandchildren, Phillip Jones, Steven Jones, Eddie Carlyle, Jr., Apsley Brock and husband Cody, Sadie Carlyle, Jared Carlyle; great grandchildren, P.J. Jones and Chloe Jones; sisters, Brenda Mercer of Kinston, Barbara Arnette of Kinston; brothers, Buddy Jones of Grifton and Lynn Jones and wife Diane of Kinston; numerous nieces and nephews; and fur baby, Oscar.
