Laura Ellen (Roberts) Grant

Laura Ellen Roberts Grant, 103, of Kinston passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Harmony Hall in Kinston. She enjoyed dancing the last 35 years at The Galaxy. If anything could make her eyes light up, that could be it. She was a homemaker but her and her late husband ran a country store for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Grant; daughter, Linda Smith; granddaughter, Denise Gray; siblings, Clarence A. Roberts Jr., J.W. Roberts, and Shirley Hafele.

Laura is survived in death by her daughter, Faye Gray and husband, Skeet; sons, Charles Robbie Grant and Jesse R. “J.R.” Grant; grandchildren, Laura O’Neal and husband, Randy, Donna Daily and husband, Dennis, Margaret Chase and husband, Tim, Rhonda Grant, Jeff Grant and wife, Kathleen, Kim Grant, Jonathan Smith and wife Dana; numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Vito Bisogno officiating. A burial will be held following the funeral service at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
