Laura Catherine (Merritt) Hedgepeth

Laura Catherine Merritt Hedgepeth, 81, of Dover passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at her home. She graduated from East Carolina University and taught at Dover High School for several years. Laura also worked with Caswell Developmental Center. She was a member of the Dover Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her younger brother, William “Bill” Franklin Merritt; daughter-in-law, Vicki Williams Hedgepeth; and parents, Graham Merritt, Sr. and Alice Tyndall Merritt.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Curtis Hedgepeth; son, Curtis Wayne Hedgepeth and wife Mari; grandchildren, Linda Albiter, Fidel Albiter, Jr., and Matteo Guerrero.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Garner Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. December 5, 2024 at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Pastor Clint White officiating.
