Margaret "Pug" Louise (Edwards) Lilly

Margaret "Pug" Louise Edwards Lilly, born in Kinston, North Carolina, Monday, October 31, 1938, died in Schertz, Texas, Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was 87 years young. A graduate of Kinston High School, Class of 1957, she was employed by Carolina Dairies as a bookkeeper and secretary for many years. Her quick wit was second to none and she always found humor with every curve ball life threw her way. An avid reader, she found solace in books of all topics. She loved her children and was their strongest supporter, never judging, always encouraging -- "when you feel you have hit bottom, there's only one way to go...look up, stand up, get your footing, move forward; love each other, don't fight, and do the best you can, I love you!," she would say. She was loved and will be missed by all those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, William "Bill" Edwards; her stepfather, William Leland Green; her mother, Margarette Mann Green; her son, Harvey Stephen Lilly; her fur babies, Bubbles, Sandy, George, Bruce, Tuffy, Tasha, Samantha, Gizmo, and Jordan, and grand fur babies, TaraSkye, and Gracie. A private family graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2025, at Westview Cemetary. Survivors include her son, Alton Leslie Lilly, Jr., and wife, Tammy, of Selma, Texas; her son, Michael Glenn Lilly, and fur baby, Nakita, of Kinston, North Carolina; grandson, Marvin Brandon Lilly, and wife, Allison, of Schertz, Texas, and four great-grandchildren. She is now sitting at the "girls gossip table" with friends, Alberta, Alma, Ann, Betty, Jean, Julia, Lora, Rosalie, and many others that have long since departed our earthly world.
