Michael "Mike" Medico

Mike Medico, a devoted father, talented carpenter, passionate fisherman, and motorcycle enthusiast, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on November 13, 1969, Mike grew up in a household with a father that set a strong example for working hard. Mike followed that example, working his way up from a laborer to Superintendent in the heavy construction industry. Mike was a proud father to his two children—son Marshal and daughter Amber—whom he adored above all else. Carpentry was the basis for his early career, but it was more than just a skill for Mike, it was an expression of his artistic side. If you showed him a picture or a sketch of something made of wood, he could instantly know exactly how to build it. He would always amaze us with what he could build. He made it look so easy. As a testament to his skill, the beautiful bamboo floors that now run through my own home are a daily reminder of his artistry and care. I will never take them for granted. Beyond carpentry, Mike loved to get out on the water and fish. There were many times when the entire day would go by and there wasn’t a single fish in the boat, but it didn’t matter. Sitting on the boat sharing stories we had already told a hundred times was all we needed. Well, that and some sketchy gas station food for good measure. Beyond his hobbies, Mike was known for his willingness to help anyone in need. Whether it was fixing a door or stopping a roof leak at Grandmas house, he was always ready and willing to help. Mike’s parents, Gary, step mother Jean, and birth mother, Cindy, predeceased him in death. He is survived by his children, Marshal Medico and Amber Medico and the mother of his children Wanda Foy. He is also survived by his other siblings, Brian Plowden, Lori Plowden, Chris Medico, Angie Medico-Elkins, Frank Medico, Jon Medico, and Meribeth Medico. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, allowing those who knew and loved Mike to gather, share stories, and honor his memory in a setting that reflects his vibrant spirit. Details will be announced when we have a date and location selected. Mike Medico’s humor, skill, and willingness to help friends and family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. While his passing has left us sad, his memories can help lift our spirits from our grief. We will remember him, always.
