Patricia "Pat" Ann (Mitchell) Simmons

Patricia “Pat” Mitchell Simmons, 86, of Kinston passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at UNC Lenoir Health Care.

Pat loved her family, grandsons, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, doing alterations, and working with flowers. She especially loved working with flowers at Herritage Elite Senior Retirement Community, where she resided for approximately ten years. During her stay at Herritage Elite she enjoyed spending time with the other residents and the staff.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Becton Simmons and Raeford Allen Lee; parents, Avan and Nettie Mitchell; sister, Bruce Gray and brothers, Wayne Mitchell and Jim Mitchell.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Linda Butler and Teresa Smith; grandsons, Shawn Howard and wife Traci, Walter “Walt” Howard and wife Millie; great grandchildren, Keelin Howard, Gage Howard, Anna Grace Howard, Conley Howard; sister, Eleanor Wrenn.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Garner Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a church or a charity of your choice.
