Philip "Phil" Marshall Harper, Sr,

Philip “Phil” Marshall Harper, Sr., 72, of Kinston passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at UNC Lenoir Health Care.

He was a loving son, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved spending time in his garden and watching his westerns on T.V.

Phil is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Peyton Harper; father, Lewis P. Harper; brother, Dennis Harper and sister, Vickie Cole.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Pauline Harper; daughters, Lisa Miller and Sherry Harper; son, Philip “Phil, Jr.” Harper; grandchildren, Jennifer Bishop and husband Michael, William “Randy” Carlyle, Jr., Rebecca Hinson and fiancé Michael Freeman, Ryan Harper, Aaron Miller and Matthew Harper; great grandchildren, Kayla, Austin, Hayleigh, Layla, Carlei, Brayden, Ashlie-Marie and Brantley; very special friend of the family, Julie Sanderson; niece, Dianna Clark and nephew Greg Clark.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Garner Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2021 at Westview Cemetery.
