Rebecca Merilyn Daughety

Rebecca Merilyn Daughety, 86 of Dover, NC left us on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 and went to live eternally with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed away at home in the presence of her loving children. Merilyn was born October 8, 1939 in Cove City, NC to the late Lynwood and Geneva Garner. Merilyn graduated from Dover High School where she met her husband of 64 years, Fred Daughety, who preceded her in death in January 2023.

She was a faithful servant of the Lord and enjoyed sharing the message of salvation. Merilyn was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Kinston, NC. She loved her church family and appreciated the love and support provided by the members and staff.

Merilyn is survived by her three children, Rickey Daughety (Laura) of Dover, NC, Leshue Sanderson (Terry, partner) of Richlands, NC, and Rebecca Sanderson (Keith) of Gaines Township, MI; multiple generations of grandchildren; sisters, Linda Benningoff of TN and Susan Brown of New Bern, NC. A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date.
