Rickie Wayne Stephens

Rickie Wayne Stephens, 65, of Kannapolis, North Carolina passed away after fighting a long hard battle at Atrium Health Hospital in Concord Tuesday, August 25, 2020.  He was a hardworking, kind and compassionate man that loved his family and friends. He was always there and willing to help everyone he came in contact with.  He loved life to its fullest.

He is preceded in death by his father Jack Bostick; three sons, Michael Wayne Stephens, Rickie Wayne Stephens Jr. and Rickie Wayne Stephens II “Buddy”; and two step siblings: Jerry Bostick and Linda Combs.

Rickie is survived by Judith Teel Herring of the home: his mother, Ellen Alford Bostick of Greenville; sons Robert Jeffrey Stephens and wife Melissa of Kinston and Christopher Lee Stephens and wife Monica of Kinston: daughter Rebecca Dawn Stephens Medeiros of Deep Run and Samantha Herring Wade and husband Blake of Zebulon ; grandchildren Kristen Stephens Hawks and fiancée Jamie Reese, Amber Stephens, Hunter Stephens and fiancée Ashley Jones, Ashton Medeiros, and Hannaley Stephens.  Rickie is also survived by three half-brothers: Doug Bostick, Billy Bostick and Randy Bostick and a stepsister Carol Moss.

“There’s a lot of things great about life.  But I think tomorrow is the most important thing.  It comes to us at midnight very clean.  It’s perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands.  It hopes we’ve learned something from yesterday.”
