Obituary
Samuel Allen Dawson, Sr., 64, of Goldsboro passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
Samuel was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing golf especially. He was a great dad and provider to his family, which he loved dearly. He would help anybody and would relax with a cup of Crown Royal.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Sanderson, and Peggy Dawson; sister, Deborah Quinn; and brother Jimmy Sanderson.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sylvia Dawson of the home; sons, Cary Smith and wife Mary-Ann, Travis Smith and wife Catherine, Allen Jr. and wife Aimee, James Dawson and wife Jessy; and brother, Elbert Dawson. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; first cousin, Dannie Lancaster; The Family of Gallaher Management; Todd and Mary-Ann; Jimmy Tyndall; Bitsy the dog; and Slick the cat.
A visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in the chapel at Garner Funeral Home.
