Shelton Bryan Daugherty

Shelton Bryan Daugherty, 87, of Dover passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern. Shelton was the “uncle” to the neighborhood. Shelton always had a lot to say and always told military stories. He would talk your ear off. He was a good Christian man and loved his church and church family at Mosley Creek Free Will Baptist Church. Shelton loved spending time with the kids and enjoyed a good meal. You could always find Shelton in the pasture sitting with the cows. He loved tending to the cows, and he would always read his Bible while sitting in the pasture.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lila Cannon Daugherty; father, David Daugherty; mother, Inez Daugherty and special sister, Mary D. Casey.

Survivors include of the home place, Deanna Johnston and husband Jonathan and their children, Melanie, Caleb, Alana and Noelle; Wesley Nimmo and wife Linda and their son, Wes; Cindy Tripp and husband Steve and their son, Brian Tripp; Patsy Barwick and husband Ronnie and their children, Stevan and Rhonda.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2022 at Garner Funeral Home. Entombment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
