Sue Elmore Tripp, 60, of Colerain passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at ECU Health in Greenville.
She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She devoted 31 years of compassionate service to patients and families through her work at ECU Health in Greenville. Sue had a beautiful love for music and especially enjoyed singing. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. A faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church, Sue lived her life guided by her faith, kindness, and dedication to others. She will be remembered for her caring spirit, her love of family, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Carroll Elmore, Sr.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Tommy Tripp, son, Shane Tripp and wife Caroline, mother, Marie Davis Elmore, granddaughters Scarlett and Davina Tripp, sister, Donna Harper and husband Marty, brother, James Carroll “JC” Elmore, Jr and wife Trish, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Colerain at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, with her husband Tommy Tripp officiating. Visitation will be held at Garner Funeral Home on Tuesday night from 6:00-8:00pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston at 11:00am with her husband Tommy Tripp officiating. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
