Timothy "Timmy" Reece, Sr. Obituary

Timothy “Timmy” John Reece, Sr., 69, of Kinston passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at his home.

A loving son, father, papa, brother, and friend.

Timmy spent his life working in industrial maintenance, a career that showed his strong work ethic, dedication, and perseverance. But beyond the long hours and hard work, what truly defined him was his heart for family and the simple joys of life.

He loved nothing more than back porch sitting, surrounded by loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and making memories that will never fade. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, a place where he found peace and happiness. More than anything, Timmy cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. They were his greatest pride and joy, the ones who lit up his world and gave him purpose.

To know Timmy was to know kindness, loyalty, and love. He touched countless lives with his humor, his strength, and his gentle spirit. His absence leaves a hole that can never truly be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to love him.

Though he may no longer sit beside us on the porch, or cast his line in the water, his spirit will forever remain with us—in every story told, every laugh shared, and every moment spent together as family.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.

Timmy is preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Reece; son, T.J. Reece; great grandchild, Emery Reece; mother, Sadie M. Reece; father, William W. Reece; sisters, Lois Wiggs and Lavell Swison; brother, William Reece; nieces, Brenda Bell and Linda Walker.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Julie Sanderson; sons, Josh Reece and wife Desny, Adam Reece, Sammy Sanderson, Chris Sanderson and wife Kim, Jamie Sanderson; grandchildren, Gracin, Ava, Mahaylin, Paisley, Devin, Karah, Alyssa, Joseph, Brandy, Cameron, Jony, Samantha, Annabelle, Austin, Rebecca, Ryan, Matthew, Dean, Dale, Taylor, Kevin, Layla, Daisa; great grandchildren, Ayden, Giovanni, Addison, Ashlie, Addelaine; sisters, Paullette and Lavern; brothers, Kenny and Edward; dear friend Nadine and many more.
