William Elijah Jones Jr. (Billy) of Kinston passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from his short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Leap Day, February 29, 1960.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Elijah Jones, Sr. and Minnie Bell Jones Little.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lisa Thompson Jones; his sons, Brently Jones (Kelly), Brandon Jones (Jessica); his daughter, Billie Alaine Turner (Clayton); grandchildren, Eric Jones, Addilyn Jones, and Levi Turner; brothers, Howard Jones, David Jones, and Christopher Jones.

Billy had a love for God, music, Harley-Davidsons, and Steeler Football. His family and friends enjoyed listening to him play the guitar, especially songs he wrote himself.

While he loved all of his grandchildren, the bond that he had with his oldest grandson, Eric, was indescribable.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the home of his daughter with Pastor Seth Jones officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service
