William Harold Lang, better known as “Brother”, age 87, was called home to Jesus on May 4, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Gussie Lang, and a very special sister Linda Burke who loved him very much.
After completing high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force for four years. He worked for Merita Bread Company, Pates Furniture, and worked for his sister Linda Burke at her dealership. He enjoyed working in the car business for many years.
He is survived by his three sons, Mickey, Jeff, and Brian Lang. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Holden Lang, Daron (Darlene) Lang, and Erica (J.R.) Nimeskern; and seven great grandchildren Hazyl and Gaje Lang, Jayce Turney, Josie, Julian, Junie, and Avery Nimeskern. Also, his two remaining sisters Dot (Howard) Permar, and Barbara (Sister) Daughety. He was also loved and will be missed by his niece, nephews, and cousins, and very special friend Hazel Lang Eubanks.
He was an avid fan of the Carolina Tarheels. He loved watching basketball, baseball, and football.
Funeral services will be held at Garner Funeral Home on May 12, 2021. Family will receive guests at 11:00, with a service beginning at 12:00. Dr. Charles Russell and Rev. Bob Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Sam Jones Cemetery.
